{Year 9 IAG Powerpoint}
Year 9
Mr G Dhillon
Teaching isn’t a job, it’s a vocation. At some point in the past, I realised that I love helping people and this has led me to work within the pastoral structure of school.
Pupils are people and not just the ‘Science Students’ in my lab, so I get to work holistically with the whole pupil as head of year – the best of both worlds. Consequently, I have found that being the head of a year group is a truly challenging role, from leading a team of tutors and heading up a year group, to helping pupils with their problems, dealing with the SEN department, collaborating with outside agencies to support pupils and staff and working effectively with the rest of the school community.
Favourite Part of the Job
My favourite part of this job is that no two days are the same; I genuinely learn something new each day.
If I can make a positive difference to youngster’s lives then I have had a successful day.
