We Dream
Our vision at Oak Wood School is to armour our young people with the knowledge and vision to dream about their future. We do this by providing our pupils with a planned programme of experiences that will support and enable them choose pathways at that are suited to them. This ensures they are equipped to manage their careers choices, sustain employment, and achieve personal and economic wellbeing to be successful adults that support a community. Our aim is to ensure that our young people are provided with the means and opportunity to engage with industry and employers to understand their future job and career potential.
Springpod
All Oak Wood pupils are signed up to a Springpod account. From work experience with top organisations such as Airbus, Deloitte, Jaguar Land Rover to Subject Spotlights with leading universities, students can build their experience and explore subject interests so they are ready to make the right choices about your next steps and career pathway. All Springpod programmes are entirely remote, can be completed at times that suit you, and offer a certificate that is great for CVs. Simply go to www.springpod.com.
Education Development Trust
From September 2023, all Year 10 pupils will have access to group careers guidance from an impartial careers adviser from Education Development Trust. Appointments will take place throughout the school year. All Year 12 students will have access to group careers guidance during the Futures Programme at the end of Year 12.
