Our School Council is an integral part of the running of the school. It is part of the curriculum but is also part of the everyday life of the school. Through a variety of sub-committees such as Teaching & Learning, Pupil Well-Being, Specialism and Rewards and Sanctions the students have opportunities to shape the decision making of their own school. A fully democratic process elects a representative from each form group. These Form Councillors then represent their tutor group meaning every student in the school is represented.
Alongside the School Council we operate a Prefect system which is a long running Oak Wood tradition. This gives a select number of Year 11 students additional responsibilities and allows them to develop their leadership potential.
